HERR TAVERN

My wife and I will come to Gettysburg without the group usually the first weekend in June and around October 12th (Our Anniversary). We would stay at a different Bed and Breakfast, this is according to what we hear as to this one is active or that one is active. My wife and I don't just do the battlefield we also will investigate the various lodgings or the ground the lodging is located on. Another one of these lodging's is The Herr Tavern, located on Herr's Ridge further West on 30 from Larson's (General Lee's Headquarters).

Like most buildings of Herr Tavern size was used as a field hospital during the war.  The room we had was a surgery room, I figured I would get a lot of interesting activity, we did manage to get quite a few Orbs all night on the IR camera.  I also set up a audio recorder both in our room and the Tavern down stairs I did get some EVP's on the recorder located in our room it was the distant sounds of someone knocking on the main door down stairs. On the recorder located in the Bar down stairs I did get the sounds of someone turning a squeaking door knob, then the opening and closing of the door and boots walking on the wooden floor in the Tavern.

We kind of had the whole place to ourselves. The Chic and Sharon Bloom and ourselves George and Jeanette Kurtz, it was nice the weather was a nice it was predicted that it was suppose to rain but we lucked out, the sky was clear but it was a little windy.

The Blooms stayed in the other room that was used as a operating room,  Sharon reported that she also heard the distant knocking on the main door to the building.  She also set up her audio recorder and noted that she too recorded the knocking.  Not only did I set up my audio recorder but I also set up my IR camera down stairs in the bar for I was told that there was some activity there.  I didn't get anything on IR digital camera.  Unfortunately I couldn't go down to the bar cause the door to the bar was locked, I had to setup my equipment (Digital Recorder & IR Camera) and let it record till the next morning when the employees unlocked the door.

Of course I didn't know what I got till I had a chance to listen the next day.  Which I was doing the next evening I was up in the commons room going over the video I took with the IR camera in the bar.  It was about 4:00 a.m. when my wife came out to me and said "Did you hear anything?"  I said "like what?" "Like someone knocking on a door", I said "No I didn't hear anything."  The Blooms also told me that they heard someone knocking on a door as well in the room they stayed in, it was around the same time.  I had set up my IR Camera and Digital Audio recorder in our room so maybe I picked up something on one or both of these units.  Due to the fact that room my wife and I stayed in was a surgery room, I was hoping that I would get something.

With some  luck I did manage to get the knocking sound that my wife was telling me about, it was very faint with all the foreground noise, but I did hear it.  I know there was no one in the building but us, the employees didn't show up till 6:00 a.m.  On the IR camera our room was filled with orbs, orbs everywhere.  All size orbs, moving from top to bottom, bottom to top side  to side the room was busy with activity, I setup the camera so it faced the chair in the  corner, cause I was told that a form started to visualize during one of the other guests stayed in this room, with no success.

We packed up then traveled home, it was a great place to stay, we would stay there again  with no question..

Our next trip will be in June from the 6th to the 8th at Larson's again in a room that is very active.

Till then..
