Anniversary
weekend

I have seen some photographs where infrared photos were taken during the day light hours, I read that maybe one in a thousand pictures taken there is a good possibility of capturing a spirit from the beyond. So I saw on the internet that the Nikon D50 can be modified by removing IR filters within the camera so that the autofocus and exposure settings can be used.

Originally I purchased a IR filter that attached to the front of the lens where a great deal of bracketing must be done, this was due to the darkness of the filter.  On many occasions either the exposure or focus was way off.
My first step was to locate another Nikon D50 Body which I found on Ebay for $200 then through Google I found someone who could modify the camera for $200.  The person who did the modification for me was Jim Chen, the link to some of his photos is on the home page of TVIGH.

Below are photo's I took of various Battlefields at Gettysburg with the hope of finding one of these lost souls.  I will be taking more every time my wife and I visit.  IR definitely gives a different perspective on some of the monuments and landmarks. Notice that all the white you see is not snow, IR photographs green as white also the sky is not blue, it is brown.  I could change the photos to b&w but I like the effect as it is.
