Ghost Hunting

December 2 - 4,  2008
Larson's (General Lees Headquarters)
Route 30 West

It is always a pleasure to spend some time with our great friends Chic and Sharon,  fortunately for me my work schedule is flexible where I can put in for specific days.  Unfortunately for Chic and Sharon they only can get off Tuesdays and Wednesday's.  So with this in mind my wife and I made arrangements to meet up with Chic and Sharon for a trip to Gettysburg, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday December 2nd, 3rd, and 4th of December.  With us leaving at around 9:00 a.m. Tuesday morning we figured we would be in Lancaster around lunch time, so we decided to do lunch in Lancaster PA.  on Route 30.

My wife and I arrived in Gettysburg around 3:00 p.m. we were staying at Larson's (General Lee's Headquarters) made reservations through Chic and Sharon, we requested that we stay in Room 141 which we where informed was a very active room.  I unpacked all my equipment and started to set up a IR Camera and DVR before we went on the battlefield this time of year it gets dark early and the battlefield was only open till 7:00 p.m. so we didn't have to much time.

We decided that we would do a battlefield that we hadn't done all the times we where here.  Little Round top was our selection,  so off we went,  I didn't do very well so we moved to the base of Little Round Top, where on one of my previous visits Sharon saw a confederate soldier looking over my shoulder.  I only captured an occasional Orb or two, with a video camera and IR light recording my photo session I was hoping I would capture the visitor on video.  As usual I setup a audio recorder at "Pickett's Charge"  battlefield on Tuesday night.

The weather wasn't to bad, Tuesday it was over cast with no threat of rain fortunately for us.  It wasn't to cold it was bearable.  Wednesday Chic and I discussed where we were going to setup our audio recorders  hoping I could catch EVP's, we decided to set up our recorders at the 26th North Carolina Monument near Route 30 West.  In the morning at the breakfast room at Larson's I would listen to the audio recorded the night before, both from the battlefield and our room.  While listening to the audio from Pickett's' Charge I believe  I heard musket fire, but I'm not really sure.

Tuesday the first evening, we got the usual Orbs at the various battlefields nothing new,  although our friend Sharon had an experience which really upset her, she was a walking by herself at the end of Little Round top near a monument about 30 yards from where the vehicle was parked.  Sharon's husband Chic was asking her "Sharon what's the matter?" Sharon didn't answer right away,  Chic kept asking her "Sharon what happened, why are you upset"   finally Sharon explained that when she was standing near the monument all of a sudden this mist formed and totally surrounded her.   Sharon started to feel sad and concern for the soldiers who died here, the next thing she knew she was totally surrounded by mist (Ectoplasm), she said immediately she felt uncomfortable.  I asked Sharon if she wanted to go back to that location with me and see if the mist would form again.  Sharon said, "No I don't want to go back there".

Ectoplasm starting to form around Sharon like the previous evening.

Wednesday December 3rd we went out again Sharon wanted to return to the monument to see if that same feeling would come over her like the night before.  The feeling of sadness and concern once again started to come over her.  Sharon was a little more comfortable this time though she believes the spirits remaining here sensed this and that's why she was surrounded by the Ectoplasm the night before.  So she decided to leave.  Ectoplasm started to form, didn't visibly notice it but it showed up in the photo which might be difficult to see.

I managed to get some Ectoplasm at Pickett's Charge Battlefield, sometimes it is difficult to tell whether it is ones own breath or real Ectoplasm,  being familiar with this I will hold my breath while taking the photo especially when the air is cold.  So as I was ready to push the button I held my breath.

Now, at home I have to go through all the data gathered over the two day visit ,  this is any video with the hand help video camera, the DVR recorded in our room with the IR cameras, Photographs which both my wife I took around proximately 1000 photos over a two night visit and all audio recordings.  As far as any audio I did notice at 26th North Carolina monument about the 16 minutes into the recording  I heard my full name announced by a male voice.  I don't know for sure what that means, but I will say it sure caught my interest.  I know when I first started the recorder I always introduce myself time and location where I am recording.  My wife thought that maybe my name was there before I started recording and my name bled through the new recording.  I explained that once a new recording was being written on the chip it erases anything that was there with the new audio.

To make the processing of new audio information I use a free software that can be downloaded off the internet the software is called  (Audiacity) if you are interested.
